Do you have an Android device (smartphone, tablet, whatever) ? Perfect! I need you!
At Unintentional.org we put together a (very) tiny app to make life easier to all of you wanting to contribute: it allows you to take a snapshot of your masterpiece with the embedded camera and then to send it directly to Unintentional using the email client installed on the device. Pretty straightforward, isn’t it?
Anyway, I need your help: before putting it on Google Play I want to be sure (well, sort of) that it works well on different hardware and displays, and this is why the whole thing is still in beta version. So, if you have an Android powered device, just download the app from here, install it and check it out! No malicious code, I promise! For the geeks, code is available under Apache 2.0 license on Github (it would need some cleaning…).
Note: since this is not coming from Google Play you must allow your device to install from “Unknown Sources” (i.e. non-Market apps). To do this, navigate to Menu -> Settings -> Applications and check the box marked “Unknown Sources“ (your language may vary 🙂 )
If you find something that looks like a bug, write me at email@example.com (a proper bug tracking software is still missing…).
Now, I feel some of you wondering why there’s no app for the iPhone/ iPad….the answer is easy: to develop for iOS I’d need a Mac. Want the iPhone app? Buy me a Mac. Thank you!
